Beersmith.com recipes

Post by Beer-lord »

Just got an email that my beersmith.com account will expire in 10 days and revert back to basic and I really wonder, even at the sale price of $9.99, if it's worth it. I only remember using it once in the last year. My Beersmith app on my iPad can hold all my recipes if I need to take my info somewhere and I don't even use my iPad when brewing. And then there's sharing......I haven't really done that either. I can always send someone my recipe.
What am I missing if I revert to basic? $10 is cheap but not if I don't use it!

I use the free, I just rotate what's on cloud to get new recipes to my iPad.
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

I do the same thing. No need for me to pay to put more than 15 to the cloud.

I thought it was only 10 free but it matters not, still not worth it to me.

That is where I am storing my recipes. Between computer crashes & net-drives crashing I have lost all of my recipes. Slowly rebuilding what I lost.

That's why I keep 'em on my 'puter, iPad, and I got a notebook I write 'em down in. Kind of a triple redundancy...guess I ought to send a copy of 'em to my brother in OH. So I also have them stored "off site" as well

I use the basic version I paid for a while back. I don't even have the mobile app, although I've been thinking about it.

I keep my recipes on my computer but I keep a text version of them backed up on Google Drive so they are accessible from anywhere.

I keep the current versions of my house recipes on the BeerSmith cloud drive (free version). Also have local copies of every version of all my recipes on BS at home and work  Every brew day, the recipe gets printed and I use that to take notes during the day. Those get 3-hole punched and put in the brew binder. Should be covered if the unthinkable happens...
Fermenting: Bucket 1 - Fresh Squeezed IPA; Bucket 2 - Empty

Kegged: Keg 1 - Irish Red; Keg 2 - Cream Ale; Keg 3 - Amber Ale; Keg 4 - APA; Keg 5 - Empty; Keg 6 - Empty; Keg 7 - Empty
The reason why the above list is so small Home Theater Build
