What new toy to get next?
Luck of the draw last nite at bowling, my ticket picked for 3rd game strike jackpot, need to throw first two strikes in 3rd game. Well I hit it!!$930.00 So have been kicking around the idea of adding a pump to my brew setup. Already have stir plate and O2 tank for aerating. What is something that you find adds convenience and/or better process to the brewday?

Wow, good on ya!
I quit looking at things since it's dangerous and I already have been a bad boy but the pumps sound good. Only complaint I've heard about them is keeping them clean but that should be a problem.
With that amount of money you could put a good dent into going electric.

I'm not familiar with your rig. You already have temperature control? Kegging? Kegerator? You could buy some cool stuff.

Never mind, there it is.

That would make winter time brewing more convenient.

AG mash cooler and propane. Temp control is a Johnson controller, nothing fancy, already keg and have setups and have the beergun for bottling. So kind of looking more to the brew side here.John Sand wrote:I'm not familiar with your rig. You already have temperature control? Kegging? Kegerator? You could buy some cool stuff.

Re: What new toy to get next?
I have a Chugger center inlet pump and LOVE it. Used it last brew day to transfer 170* water from my electric kettle to another pot to mash in (was doing two different beers). Then used it to whirlpool hops for 30 minutes, before using it to whirlpool while chilling. Being able to whirlpool while chilling is reason enough. I clean in place. Water, PBW, recirculate while scrubbing the pot, then rinse the same way.
Extra equipment for your sour program. (Get new buckets and tubing for your regular beer and use the older stuff for sour)
A 5-10 gallon oak barrel would be nice.

Ideas, Ideas! What if any difference is there between the center inlet and inline on the pumps? As far as barrels, new or used?Inkleg wrote:I have a Chugger center inlet pump and LOVE it. Jeff, could you put a link to the pump you have? That may be something I'd be interested in for cooling/whirlpooling.

I was on Farmhouse's site earlier, they have the 3 different Chuggers, plastic head, SS head inline and SS head center input.

Their prices are actually better than Amazon. I wonder who's go the best price on hoses for these?????
I got a $100 gift card for a sales award and it's itching to get spent.

1/2" hi temp silicone tubing @ farmhouse is 2.40/ft. one order, one shipping charge. Or pick it up at Home Depot or Lowes just be sure it is silicone.

I've gotten all my plumbing supplies from BrewHardware. Good stuff, good prices and great guy. All my fittings are cam locks and work great. Will post more when not at work.

I'll wait to see what you post but I'm also curious how you clean them other than running clean water than a sterlizer thru it.
