While New Belgium is an employee-owned craft brewery, remember that Ben & Jerry's was purchased in 2000 by Unilever, a conglomerate based jointly in Rotterdam and London, with sales of over 50 billion euros a year. This isn't run by hippies any more.

Keep in mind, also, that Ben and Jerry's has supported cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal

I don't want to make this thread political, it may matter to some people to know this.

Re: Ben and Jerry's beer?
This is an internet rumor that continues to get repeated and expanded year after year.
The fact is that in 1995, Ben Cohen, one of the founders of Ben and Jerry's, as a private citizen, signed a letter of support in the NY Times. The company, did nothing. In 2000 the company was bought, Ben Cohen has no relationship with it. The company never signed anything, nor supported anyone.
Other people that have supported the same cause over the years include Maya Angelou, Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel, Coretta Scott King, and many others (I'm merely showing facts, I have no deep understanding of the matter nor point of view).
That's the facts if you're interested.
Keep in mind that if one was to start boycotting any company based on the personal perspective's of owners or former owners, there would be a lot of companies that you might choose to boycott. Whatever your perspective on any view, remember that is usually another view, held by people in your city or state, that work at or run companies.

Can I pick some of my customers that I want to boycott my business so I don't have to see deal with them anymore?

Re: Ben and Jerry's beer?
I just had a Gose a couple of weekends ago. It didn't sound very appetizing to me at the time but I will give most things a try at least once. It is now added to my short list of sour beers that I do like.mashani wrote:A salted sour sounds better to me
As to the Ben and Jerry's beer I am only so so on their ice creams because there is just too much going on. I'm not sure how the beer will turn out but I would try it.
Re: Ben and Jerry's beer?
If they made a Cherry Garcia beer or a Pistachio Pistachio beer, I'd be all about it!
