Got some shelving in today and ordered the sink! Sink won't be in for a few weeks. Hoping to have it finished by the end of the month. Thinking I will add 1 more section of shelving above the sink once that is installed. May even extend the one 3' shelf to 4-5 feet since it doesn't appear to interfer with the conical. Almost had an accident as I drilled one of the holes for the shelf. I knew there was a water pipe running up the backside of the wall as the utility room is the shared wall without any drywall. I thought I had a good inch of clearance before I started drilling. I drilled the hole and checked the other side of the wall...... missed the water pipe by about a 1/4". PHEW!! Hopefully the guy who owns the 5 sacks of grains will be able to take them out soon, otherwise they are going to get used by me!

Also got a cider fermenting. I used Kirkland Apple juice that is 100% fresh squeezed apple. Pitched a vial of my harvested US-05. See how long it takes to get going. Keep ya posted on how that comes out too. OG was 1.048. Looking to be 5% when it is ready.

May need to figure out a way to keep the room a little warmer during the summer months. Went down today to check on the cider I have going and 24 hours later no activity. Checked thermometer, 61 degrees! Yikes!! Need to warm that bad boy up! Closed all the AC vents in the basement. Hope that can warm it up a little down there. AC in the house was only set to 68.

Only 68? We set ours at 73.

Instead of closing venta, see if the basement ductowrk has a shutoff, so you're not cooling all that duct work.

Spent some time today once the family left to install the sink. Almost done. Got stuck with the drain plumbing. It came with some crappy plastic drainage parts that never lined up right. Going to have to spend some time at Lowes and jigsaw it together with some pvc. Not much of a plumber here so may contact my father in law for some know how tips. Hope to be done this next weekend! Just in time to keg my cider.

Well, here we are! Took me several days and about 6 trips to home depot or lowes combined and one final stop at Ferguson Plumbing to get what i needed. If i stopped at Ferguson first than I wouldn't have needed to go to the box stores at all. I think from now on I will be going to specialty stores first. Help there was AMAZING!!

Anyways, got the sink installed, plumbing hooked up, and NO LEAKS! Only a few more shelves I think that I will add and I will be done with the Beer Closet! Really happy with how it has turned out! Had a revelation too today for how to get the beer to the conical. Most likely when fermenting in the conical I will either go from the boil kettle to a bucket and dump in to the conical or I will just sit the conical on top of the bucket open and than carry to the wall mount. I am liking the dumping a bucket in to the conical idea the most.

Here are a few pics with running water.
