Okay, I'm tooting my own horn, but he who tooteth not his own horn, the same shall not be tooted.
Anyway, I have a new entry up at the Borg Blog. http://www.beerborg.com/index/2015/05/the-keg-saga/
It's kind of a light-hearted look at my entry into kegging. And all those mistakes I wrote about really did happen. That's what makes it humorous, in retrospect. I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for reading.

Thanks for the article Dave! I feel a little better, I have been trying to commit myself to kegging once I get moved to my new place, but I have been pretty intimidated and am not sure where to start. I feel much better, knowing I have a resource here on the forum to learn from mistakes, as well as reassurance that mistakes are what make us grow and are okay to make.

Re: Not to toot my own horn....
Jim, if you have a good resource at your LHBS, just keep asking them questions. They helped me immeasurably. But you can always come here and ask questions. For me, I'm a visual learner, and I pick up on things quicker if I can see them, rather than read about them or have someone describe them to me. So once I started to collect my components, I could actually see the layout taking place and it all came together. It's a big step, yes, but just keep telling yourself that lots of people have keg systems, and it's a given that a few of those people are dumber than a box of doorknobs, yet they still manage. You'll be fine.
