You betcha! :hammer:

And regarding the disparity in the Pale Ale score... Anything can happen... Slight recipe change, different day, different judges, lousy pour, bad pre-comp storage on their part (usually not kept cool until the day before the judging so... Could have been stored too warm or in sunlight..)

I never worry about drastic scoring changes unless I know I changed something radically.

Heck, just this season I had the same beer hit 38 I think?, then Nothing (somewhere in the 20's maybe?), and then 42 in three consecutive competitions. It's tough for them to be consistent too.

And I don't even want to mention all the low 20's I've pulled!

No worries!

Just finished my registration for this years competition. Here's what I'm going with this year:

Category 10A: American Pale Ale. This is the Four Point Pale Ale. Hopefully it scores better than last year.
Category 14B: American IPA. This is the Fruit Salad. Actually, this is a session IPA. ABV is only 5.1%, but I'm still interested on how it will be perceived in this category.
Category 16C: Saison. This one will be interesting as it's about a year old. It seems to have aged very well. We'll see what the judges think.
Category 21B: Christmas/Winter Ale. This is last fall's RCE that Jim Johnson and I did. It's seems to have done well with age also. We'll see.

Judging is the end of May, so stay tuned in June and I'll post the results.

All the best Chris. We're pulling for ya. I know how good some of those beers are.
Which reminds me, I still have the Winter Ale you sent. Aging well at 50*.

Best of luck Chris. I have a Brown Ale going into LMHBA King of The Mountain, and hoping I have more 2 bottles still in the keg of the Traveling Irish Red, if have enough to get 4 bottles I might give the State Fair a shot with the Red.

Yep, but cant get there from here, have to wait till I get home. Have to do some keg transfers tonite, taking 2 of the 2.5's w/Pils and Rye PA to my bowling banquet Friday nite so I can check to see if I have enough Traveling Red to enter.

Not sure. It usually takes them a few days to get the information onto their website, then a few weeks to send out the judges sheets.

By the way....welcome to the Borg!! Are you in Ohio?
