Kindle book to "lend"?

Post by Kealia »

Hey guys, I'm heading out for vacation next week and want to load up my Kindle with some reading. Some will be light, some will be not light and I was thinking of reading either "Yeast" by Chris White and Jamil or "IPA" by Mitch Steele.

Does anybody have this on their Amazon/Kindle account that they can lend me?
Neither is overly expensive but if I can borrow it I figured I'd try that route first.

Thanks.

First, what's a 'vactaion'?
I have the paperback book for yeast. I can mail it to you.
I have Jamil's Brewing Classic styles in epub I can send you.
By the way, Jamil can really be a big d-bag sometimes on his podcasts.

Thanks Paul. For not much more than it would cost to mail it I could buy the e-version, though. I wouldn't ask that of you. And I think I want to keep it all e-versions just tpvreduce packing loose items, etc.

Yeah, he's a character and I think he's somewhat polarizing. You either love him or think he is a douche bag. I really enjoy the BS.

Thanks guys.

Paul, I grabbed 'em.

Louie, I may take you up on that offer later since the lend is only good for two weeks. I don't plan on reading quite enough to warrant 3 books but I may check out that Lagunitas book at some point.

No problem, just let me know when you're ready for it. Also if anyone else is interested in checking out any of these books just PM me with your email address and I will lend it to you. As Kealia mentioned the lend is only good for 2 weeks so plan accordingly.

Just to throw it out there, for those that may not be aware. Many public libraries belong to a digital library organization, often run by OverDrive, that gives you access to free Ebooks for a period (usually two weeks). In Michigan many belong to Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS). You log in via your library's site, and gain access to the catalog. The breadth of the catalog available is determined by the level that your library chooses to make available - the more they pay, the more they get. I have found that many beer-related books that aren't widely distributed aren't available to me (including most of the current "how to" books), but figured I would post this for those that use ebook devices and aren't aware of this free option. Different formats include audio, ePub, and Amazon/Kindle among others.

Of course old fashioned paper books on brewing are often also at your library. That's where I got Palmer's How To Brew and some other ones.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...
