I took advantage of the Farmhouse Brewing keg sale. I bought two of the $75 kegs. I filled one up today with my wheat beer, which by the way the hydrometer sample was spectacular, I had a number of nits.
First the lever on the top you pull back to take the lid off is flat down on the lid so tight it is almost impossible to get my fingers under it well enough to get any leverage. Plus the legs are down against the keg so tight it takes a LOT of leverage to undo it. The bottom is like the old used kegs where it is concave instead of convex like my chinese kegs. Then the mouth is small enough that I can't reach all the way to the bottom like I can my chinese kegs. This made it harder to clean like the old style kegs are. It was really difficult to pull the "in" and "out" tubes out because they are an extremely tight fit. Then it was difficult to get them back in. The one handle has sharp edges making it rather risky carrying it when it is full. With only one handle it will be difficult to lift it into my kegorator. I would think that would make it even more difficult to lift into a keezer.
My only picks with it are the price, and it was easy to get my quick disconnect on and off for filling with C02

Re: New keg from Farmhouse
I've never bought any kegs from them but I did have one Chinese made 2.5 gallon keg I sold a while back and it seemed to work ok. Did look cheap though.
I remember when all they sold was hops. Now I look at their site and they even have parts for kegs and even regulators.

My chinese kegs do look cheap I agree. But I have never had any problem with them. I absolutely love them for easy of cleaning. I can reach all the way in and wipe them down. And the convex bottom catches all settlings of the beer while keeping the tube out of it.
