Portland Oregon breweries

Post by Foothiller »

After I have had a number of business trips to Portland OR (fly in, have a meeting, sometimes go out for dinner, fly back home), our schedules work out for my wife to join me for a trip in July, extending our time through the weekend. I know the Portland area has a number of good breweries. But if you had to pick one to go to for a tour, which would it be?

I'd love to go to Widmer Brothers. It's been a long while since I was in Portland and we only went to pubs but man did we enjoy them.

The first two on my list would be Rogue and Deschuetes because I am familiar with them. From there I'd search the websites to see which are doing some interesting brews or have a good location. Food is always a plus since some may only be tap houses.

I would also check out Hopworks Urban Brewery. It is a bicycle themed brewpub. Awesome beers.

Thanks for the suggestions! I see I have some web sites to check for possibilities like tours. Doc, it especially helps that my wife and I both like bicycling.
