Fathers Day!!

Post by BlackDuck »

First off...Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there.

Any special plans for you Dads this weekend? My wife is taking me out to dinner at Hofbrauhaus tomorrow night. Then, I'm going to bottle a batch when we get home. Then Sunday, I'm going to brew a batch of my Four Point Pale Ale. And after I'm done brewing, I'm going to sit on the couch and watch the last round of the US Open.

Can't wait for dinner tomorrow. Pretzels, bratwurst, bierwurst, sauerkraut, german potato salad and of course, german lager.

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

I'm planning on going to a somewhat new taproom, Courtyard Brewery (been there once and enjoyed it). Gonna have a food truck with special tacos and live music. But, gonna be hot too.
I plan on brewing the Lemon Saison on July 3. That's gonna be hot too.

Happy Father's Day to everyone.

I don't know what I want for Father's Day. I will be bottling the Saison D'Etre for the rehearsal dinner on Saturday, and then brewing the Sunbonnet Lemon Wheat on Sunday. My wife asked me if I wanted anything special for Father's Day, but I might just opt for a really nice deli sandwich from one of the best delis around; Luigi O'Grady's. It's been a while since I've had one of their great sandwiches, and just thinking about a turkey/swiss/bacon on a roll with mayo is making my mouth water.

This year I share Father's Day with my twins' 9th birthday, so the day belongs to them more so than me.
Even still, I was planning to fit a brew session into the day on Sunday - a Cal Common - but neither nearby LHBS had a yeast I felt comfortable using. So, I decided to postpone brewing by a week while one of them orders 810 or 2112 for me.

Yes, Happy Fathers Day to everyone. We're going to Broussard's Cajun Cuisine, tomorrow after Church. Sort of for my birthday awhile back and Fathers Day. Sounds good to me.

I won't be able to see my dad tomorrow so I sent him an Edible Arrangements fruit thing, congratulating him on a job well done. I'm the youngest and the only girl. Daddy's girl.

I hope the rest of you Fathers realize the influence you have, and that you receive the appreciation you deserve.

My son contacted Jody (my wife, not my sons birth mom, but she is by adoption (trust me, it gets complicated)) yesterday and said he and his girlfriend would like to take us to breakfast as they were going to see his girlfriends father tonight. Hope you're still able to follow along.

I called him back and said I would rather that he picked up some frozen hash browns, biscuits and OJ, as I had bacon and eggs and I would fix breakfast for all as we sat around the kitchen enjoying each others company. Jonathan has been out on his own for close to 4 years now so weekend breakfasts haven't happened for some time. We talked, laughed and I cooked. I saw the man my young son has become and I am proud of him. The hand written card brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes. This by far was the best Fathers Day to date.

That sounds like a great day Ink!

Me, I am getting ready to head out to my parents' house later. We are gonna grill up some steaks for my dad and probably have a couple beers.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads on the forum!

Thank you all, and Happy Father's Day!
I've been married twice, and each wife came equipped with two children. Lucky, right? I saw my older boys last night in Queens for dinner. They are fine men and we had a lovely time. My daughter stopped by tonight with her fiance. It occurred to me this weekend that of all of the things I've done, (rescue, felony arrests, counseling, boat building) being a stepfather is the most rewarding.
