Recently another forum had a contest where Noble Brewers were giving away a few bunch of free beer. Noble Brewers find homebrewers who are good at at it and take their recipe, brew their recipe in a brewery and sell it on line. Every quarter, they send out 4 bombers of beer for you to try.
So, I won and got 2 Farmhouse Ales and 2 CDA's. Trouble is, the box got fracked up in shipment.....UPS reboxed 2 and sent them to me. Since 2 were damaged, I am awaiting a reshipment. But, I got 1 Farmhouse and 1 CDA. Today I tried the CDA and it was very much enjoyable. Not overly roasty, nice and hoppy (look out brewers droop) and dark. I don't know if I'll get the same shipment next week or the next, quarterly shipment but you can learn all about it at http://www.noblebrewerbeer.com/
I like the fact that they give you all the info on the people who made the recipe as well as online info. They sent taster note cards so you can send back your thoughts to the brewers themselves. Pretty cool I think.

Re: My free beer
Getting a shipment of beer is always a good thing. And that reminds me that I should retry the CDA I made a while back. It was pretty good, as I recall.

If you're gonna win something, beer would rank in my top three. That's pretty cool Paul.

Re: My free beer
That is kind of neat setup, especially if your recipe ends up getting picked and brewed on a commercial system.
