New Brewer

Post by Nach »

Hi,

I just received for my birthday a brewdemon kit. I already prepared the first batch, a Pilsner, and know just waiting for fermenting.

Any suggestion more than welcome.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Borg Nach! Glad you found us.

Probably the best piece of advice I received was patience. I know the kits say you can have beer in as little as two weeks or something like that, but your beer and your mouth will thank you if you can be patient. Try fermenting for 2-3 weeks at around 65-70 degrees. Bottle and let it sit at room temp for another 3-4 weeks. Then pop one in the fridge for a couple days and sample. If you like it, throw a couple more in while the rest stay at room temp. It will give you a better feel for how it can improve with time. Of course since it is your first, no one is going to fault you for sampling early and often. We all did it, and it is just too tempting to wait to get that first taste! :jumpy:

Good luck with your brewing, and keep us up to date on your progress!

Howdy Nach! You're gonna have lots of fun with this hobby.
You've already gotten some very good advice regarding patience and if you just read some of the posts that answers questions, you can grab lots of helpful info. What you don't see answered, just ask.

And don't forget to post a picture of your first beer so we can 'ooo and ahhhh' at it. :)
