I'm a proud and humbled dad

Post by FedoraDave »

Most of you know I've been brewing beers for my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner, and as gifts for the two groomsmen. Yesterday I posted the following in my Facebook:

Okay, I got the Groomsman's Pride bottled and labeled. I think it turned out very well - maybe the best of the three wedding beers, although time will tell (and I think they're all going to be good anyway). Tomorrow I brew a fiver of South Ferry Steam Beer, and begin refilling my private pipeline. I mean, I am getting some of the wedding beers for my own private consumption, but it's not the same thing.

And my daughter responded with this:

Thank you so much, Dad. It really, really means so much to have this personal touch as a part of our wedding. You care a lot about your craft, and put a lot of hard work into it--just like you care a lot about me and put a LOT of hard work into me. You have a talent, and it's going to be an honor to share this with the world. I know the fellas will just love their custom-made beers.

Love you, Daddy!

And now I gotta see about dusting this place. I got dust in my eyes. Yeah, it's really dusty in here, and it's getting in my eyes....

Very cool. You and the Mrs. have obviously done a good job - congrats! But clearly, you've gotta work on dusting the house more often. :laugh

I've got one child, a daughter and every now and then they surprise you and turn you into a marshmallow reading the letter your daughter wrote to you did that to me

I hope the wedding goes as well as the beer and it's a fairytale ending
