What to pair with.......

Post by Beer-lord »

fresh fried oysters! Yummy. My neighbor gave me almost a pint after work. These were very small but very good.
And the Drop Kick Nate hit the spot too!
Now, where's my wife? :hammer:  :night:

I'd tell you what to pair them with but this is a family message board.

IPA of course! I'm a fan of fresh oysters in all forms. My wife picked up some fresh local oysters on Saturday; when I got home from work, I promptly shucked them, poured myself a Double Black IPA, then we had oysters on the half shell for an appetizer. The briny flavor goes well with an IPA or an American Pale Ale as well.

I had thought about my black IPA, which is good but the El Dorado/Galaxy pale ale I had was absolutely perfect with it. I even have some left over for lunch and though not good as leftovers, there was just too much to eat.
They'll be no beer at lunch though I would like to. Gotta act semi-corporate.

Our Corporate policy states that we aren’t allowed to be ‘under the influence’ of alcohol during work hours.

I don’t know about you, but it normally takes about 4 to start having an effect on me. So if I do have any drinks at lunch while working, I’ll limit myself to 2 to be on the safe side.

I know this is an older thread since it is on page nine of my unread topics (the price I pay for going AWOL) but...

If you happen to be ordering oysters in a place that serves Wychwood Brewery's Hobgloblin, a Dark English Ale, you MUST try it.

I don't know if they have/eat oysters in Oxfordshire, England but it is an awesome pairing.
