If the nests are that high up, you're not likely to be in their flight path anyway. And that's another thing I've learned in my 20 years as a Hired Killer; before you approach a wasp nest to treat it, observe from a distance what their flight path is. And then avoid that line of flight. If you get between them and their nest, you run a much higher risk of getting stung.
But you can still weird your neighbors out by wearing a grain bag on your head if you want.

Still, the grain bag on the head has got to be better than wearing a full blown hazmat suit!FedoraDave wrote: But you can still weird your neighbors out by wearing a grain bag on your head if you want.
Why, if the neighbors see ya' wearin' a full suit, they'll likely come and take away all those fancy looking lab bottles full of live organisms...

I've used the outdoor window cleaner that you attach to a garden hose to get them to leave.
It will blast a mile and shouldn't stain siding.
I don't think it kills the wasps I think it just soaks the nest and partially dissolves it so they just leave.
Have to watch for them to come back and try to start over again though some where nearby.
Good luck and be careful.
