WOW!! This has been a crazy couple of weeks!
Well, I think I told everyone here that I finally found employment and will be moving back to the Seattle area. That was about two weeks ago. Well, come to find out, housing in that area is crazy ridiculous! The area is booming, there is new construction going on and the major shipyard is at capacity. Unfortunately housing is growing at a slower rate, meaning there is only a 3% vacancy rate. To find a place to rent was near impossible. Listings on Zillow were gone within days if not hours! Luckily we have friends in the area and one of our friends was able to go to an open house on one of the houses we found on Zillow and check it out for us. Well, we were able to lock it down! It's got some nice basement space for a brewery setup and plenty of space for me and the wife. I am pretty excited.
All this housing stuff also happened as we were driving from Silver City to San Antonio, TX. Crazy time to be trying to find a place to live, but we had to go to San Antonio. As it turns out, my sister got a job the same day I did! Long story short, the job she had she had a company car, and due to an accident just before she moved, we had possession of my sister's car. With the new job, we had to drive to Texas to bring her the car. I got to spend a few days with her, meet up with an old friend from my Navy days, and of course drink a lot of Texas craft beer!
But, that also meant that here I am with my last week in Silver City before moving away again with lots to do before we go, and plenty of family and friends to say goodbye to. It's bitter sweet to me. I will miss my friends, but I am excited to be moving back to the area where I was stationed in the Navy and for my new job!
In the meantime, I have tried to keep up with the Borg here, and that became impossible! I see a popular forum from a not so forum friendly home brewery company got shut down, and caused (another) influx to the Borg (sounds familiar, we should just keep getting forums shutdown). So, we have tons of new members. I haven't had much time to get on a computer and post, so I just want to say welcome to all the new members, and I hope that after my move next week I can get back to the forum and (more importantly) back to brewing so I can get to know and share information with our new Borg Family members!
Sorry for the long post, just trying to keep you guys updated and stay in touch while this crazy month keeps throwing me around.

Crazy couple of weeks for sure, hopefully not too many ahead as you get setup to start living and brewing again!
MONTUCKY BREWING
Actively brewing since December 2013Re: Holy Moly!!
Pretty much what JimH said but without the job part here.
We "flew off half cocked" to Greenville to look at a newly listed house the other day.
Good luck with the move Jim and hang in there through this hectic part.
Looking forward to hearing from you once you get settled in.
Glad to hear you landed plenty of space for brewing.

Just concentrate on taking care of things, Jim, and know we'll still be here when the dust settles.
