Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
On a brighter note, I put the top back on my Jeep. What a PITA, remind me not to take it completely off next year. It's made to fold down but I took it all off for the summer and spent quite a little time putting it back on.
This spring with the bikini top
And today after quite a few beers later.

Just a quick medical update from here. Kris is doing as well as expected after her upper and lower jaw surgery, which still means that there is a lot of swelling and pain (though the swelling is visibly less today than in the last two days). Lots of drugs help, but she hates the stoned feeling she gets from the stuff. We've been home for two days now, and I'll be home all of this week as she recovers. The doctor says that day 5 is the turning point where things start getting a lot better, but still after that she will be on a liquid only diet (via syringe) for the next three weeks, and soft foods for the next several weeks. We are told that the surgery was a complete success and achieved all of its goals in terms of realigning her jaw, improving her bite, and likely stopping the degeneration of her jaw on one side. Full recovery takes about six months.
We appreciate the well wishes we've received from you all...

Enjoy it all while it lasts, a lot of school functions for quite a few years and before you know it, graduation and all done. I had 4 kids put though school and it was hetic but fun, now waiting on the same for my grandkids.................Enjoy it for as long as it lasts.......it's a good ride...,

berryman is right. It seems as though my little girl started Kindergarten last year...
...She's getting married at the end of the month.
It goes faster than fast. Enjoy it all and cherish it all.

Seems like yesterday that my boys were kinderbeaners. Today they are a senior and freshman in HS. The definitely goes fast and it seems like the speed is stuck in a constant state of acceleration. Enjoy the journey and soak up all the experiences along the way!
My 19 y/o daughter is moving out on Sunday to her own appartment that is close to her college. It's a yearly lease so she won't be coming back to live with us any time soon if ever. Feels kind of funny thinking she won't be back under our roof. At least last year I knew she would be back. Man time flies and the older I get the faster it seems to go.
