I'm sorry BB. Take a deep breath, say a prayer, even have a drink. And remember that most people are good and kind.

I'm shocked as well; my fellow Hokie alumni in the NW can't believe that happened.

I hope it's getting better. Other then that, all I can add is RDWHAHB. It's what I do when confronted with the madness.

Sorry about that guys... yes D rabbit I am still in Roanoke and went to post about the events here yesterday.

That is my news channel and I had coffee with those folks almost every day. This morning was really hard on the anchor and the weatherman, especially right at 6:45.

Two more lights went out in an ever darkening world; those two were always bright eyed and bushy tailed. My mind keeps rejecting that two people so young and innocent could have been targeted like this.

Yesterday was BB2's birthday and we went on about our plans but carried a sense of disbelief and denial with us all day long.

I took him to the big bottle shop here (will post his "present" on the mixer thread) and to Fresh Market to get him some Virginia oysters. He asked me to make a fried oyster salad like a local restaurant serves. By the time we got home the evening news was on and we just had no appetite so his dinner was postponed.

It is going to be hard getting over this individually and as a community (so many people here are feeling the same thing).

I don't like this world very much lately. :(

I question our world too but I try to look at the good in the world (and I fail often) but as you already know, there's tons of support in your community so try to remember that.
If I thought about the fragile line we all walk every day I couldn't get by but I chose to think about what I have compared to what I don't. Many times I fail at that too.

Powerful word my friend.

I'd been thinking of you and you brother a lot lately as well. Being a former Nola-ite and remembering the pain of watching that news coverage I send my best wishes to y'all.

I'm over it and really tired of talking about it but I will say this to everyone who's within reading distance:
THANK YOU
Whether you personally gave money or not, whether you even cared or not, you helped us get by. Your hard working tax dollars have, (for the most part) been used wisely and the support from the world meant so much to so many. And I'm honest when I say, many, many, many of use know you've helped. There are still thousands who come here from all over the world and are still, at this very minute, rebuilding. No one could say it did not make a difference to us.

Many question why we live in a bowl and I get that but it was not a natural disaster. Katrina was man made and make no mistake, much of the fault was our own for voting idiots and thieves into local and statewide positions to work with the feds over decades to keep us safe. Sadly, they all failed miserably.

So, though I've not recovered fully as a business and doubt I ever will, I am thankful that I came out ok compared to tens of thousands.
Now it's time to put this behind us and move forward. Let's go make beer!
