Re: Brewer of the Month
I vote we do SOMETHING to continue the BotM tradition.
I'm happy to leave the decisions of to how people get nominated and elected up to the borg folks. Happy to give input if they want it, but also happy with whatever gets decided here--I like this place, let's not just roll in and throw our stuff all over the place.
But, I would like to point out that Mammy's campaign video is AMAZING.
Frosty, you should also post your video review where your horse bottle opener spilled my beer...so people will have some concept of its reputation.

Re: Brewer of the Month
I'm a little slow getting this ready.The_Professor wrote:I have all the pics.
I went to do a quick html page but the images are all different sizes.
I'll post them all by this weekend.
I decided to finally complete my home server move from my Raspberry Pi B to the upgraded Raspberry Pi 2.
I already had the basic software installed but it needed some configuration.
And I decided the page needed all the MBF BOTM trivia I could stuff onto it.
So it's got both the old MBF banners, the rotating BOTM sidebar, the BOTM Award pics, and a list of all the winners.
The link is the "Link MBF BOTM Page" in my sig below.

Re: Brewer of the Month
Yes fairly recent. The 2 has 1 GB of RAM and a quad core @ 900 MHz. It is noticeably snappier. For the home server I have a minimal install of Raspbian running headless so not much extra c*** to slow it down. I like it.bpgreen wrote:That's a fairly recent upgrade, isn't it? How do you like it compared with the original Raspberry Pi?
Re: Brewer of the Month
I should probably get one and set it up as a media server to make my Tivo shows more available than what tivo stream does. I've got a desktop with a tv card and ubuntu (I think), so maybe I should just reconfiigure that since it does most of what I want already.The_Professor wrote:Yes fairly recent. Re: Brewer of the Month
I don't run any sort of media server so I have no idea what is best for that. Anytime the Pi specs are good enough for a certain job, it's tough to beat the price. Be careful though about what needs to be added to make the Pi good for the job. It could nickle and dime you a bit.bpgreen wrote:I should probably get one and set it up as a media server to make my Tivo shows more available than what tivo stream does. Since I have a server sitting next to the TV and it has a capture card, maybe I should just look there.The_Professor wrote:I don't run any sort of media server so I have no idea what is best for that.
