VACATION!!

Today begins my week's vacation. Technically, it started when I finished my final service on Saturday, but I always have Sundays off anyway, so while everyone else is working this Monday, I am OFF!

I'm dedicating Friday to running errands for my daughter in preparation for her wedding next Sunday, but I'm also going to be hitting the LHBS and brewing during the week, to kick off the end of my brewing hiatus.

And today, I am barbecuing four racks of baby back ribs. Four hours in, and they smell insanely delicious. I promised some for the contractors renovating our bathroom, and they're looking forward to it. Lunch is around 1:00 pm. And it's gonna be good. Sooooo goooooood.

I'm off this week too but its only a vacation from work but not from WORKING around the house. I'll get a brew in hopefully tomorrow.

Ribs turned out great, and the contractors were very pleased to have them for lunch. It's always a good sign when people don't talk while they're eating, but then can't stop talking about what they just ate.

Vacation?!? I am confused, had to google that word. I haven't had a vacation since a vacation had me. I.E. work dried up and had no money to do anything. Can I come work for you, I love BBQ ribs. Especially if I don't have to cook them. Hope you have a restful week

Gonna keg the Ottertoberfest this morning, dry hop the Rye-Guy IPA, and then run down to the LHBS to get ingredients for the next two batches. I'll be brewing a fiver of Amber's Amber Ale on Thursday, after I keg the Rye-Guy. Good vacation so far.

I made the ribs for myself. I shared them with the contractors because I'm a nice guy. I have a good three racks divvied up, vacuum sealed, and frozen, so I can have barbecued ribs in the fall and maybe the winter.

And while I wouldn't mind sharing my homebrew with them, also, I wouldn't offer it to them while they were working.

John, the difference is, when I'm working, I'm as busy as I gotta be. Now that I'm on vacation for a week, I'm as busy as I wanna be!

Keep in mind, too, that on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I'm going to belong to my daughter 100%, so if I'm gonna do anything for myself, I have to do it Mon. thru Thurs. And I intend to!
