Just scored some fresh 2015 local grown from a family friend. Cascade; papery, aromatic cones. Weighs in at: 1lb 11oz. I think I'll brew up a cascade pale ale tomorrow!

Back during the early 2000 IPO craze there was a device called "iSmell" that was kind of like a printer for smells that you were supposed to be able to attach to your box, and then have web pages or emails or what not offer you smells. We actually had a prototype model where I worked. It was quickly determined just how bad of an idea this was however based on the um... juvenile... scents people would send each other. Imagine a hacker getting access to it.

After brewing a batch with some of the cones on Monday, I spread the rest out & have had a fan blowing across them to dry them more, so they won't mildew.

Dried the fresh hops, down to almost 7 ounces left after a wet hop brew day yesterday.

If they started out at 1 lb 11 oz, they really should have dried to less than 7 ounces total. If you used some for a wet hop brew day and still have almost 7 ounces, you should probably dry them some more.

Yeah, they already felt half dry when I got them; papery texture, but clammy in the bottom of the sack.
Couldn't wait till I went back to work, where I have a moisture meter available.
