Brewmasters Warehouse part of Northern Brewer.
Good to see http://www.brewmasterswarehouse.com/ is now a part of Northern Brewer and even happier to see they intend to keep the Brew Builder software. It was WAY to easy to order 2-3 recipes at a time and have each arrive in it's own bag.

Doesn't northern brewer also own midwest supplies?

A private equity firm owns all of it, yes.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Never used Brew Builder.
Preferred having the individual ingredients at my disposal.
Did like BMW's on-line product catalog. Best in the business ... IMO.
Clean alphabetized listing of items by category with unit prices.
No repetitious images.
No need to click page after page after page to see the offerings and find the stuff you wanted.
Used to buy exclusively from BMW until they crashed and burned ... a victim of their own success.
Wonder if BNARMY still gets you a 10% discount?

I miss when Northern brewer was my local homebrew shop and they were not into annoying gimmicks....it's sad to me...

I agree about the gimmicks the last couple of years.
Although, when the above link took me to their site, the first thing I saw was Fast Pitch (canned wort). It isn't LME. In what appears to be a 4 pack of beer cans, is pitchable, pourable, straight from the can to the flask... wort for starters. That is a damn good idea right there.

Yeah I thought it was one of the best ideas, though it is concentrated so you have to add water... Kind of defeats the purpose if you have to boil and cool water anyways. Or just add plain water and water comes with that...it is pretty expensive as well.Pudge wrote:I agree about the gimmicks the last couple of years.

Re: Brewmasters Warehouse part of Northern Brewer.
Oh, I thought it was pourable. Just pour and pitch.
Re: Brewmasters Warehouse part of Northern Brewer.
Here's their response: "The starter wort itself will not need to be boiled again. You can simply use clean tap water, if needed, much like topping off your fermentor in basic extract brewing. However, using water that has been boiled will probably be best. That will only take a few minutes, compared to boiling an entire starter. You could also use bottled water." So... you don't have to use boiled water, but it would "probably be best." Kind of a wishy-washy response...
