Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I had a pretty busy bottling day, due to brewing several batches 3 weeks ago. I bottled a 2G batch of Mr. Beer Oktoberfest Lager, a 2G batch of Mr. Beer Winter Dark Lager, a 1G batch of BrewDemon One Evil Pilsner and a 1G batch of Northern Brewer Caribou Slobber Brown Ale. I also brewed a 2.5G batch of the BrewDemon One Evil Pilsner.
I'm really looking forward to see how these turn out, as my family doesn't care for some of the darker/stronger beers that I've made but they seem to like the Wild Spirit IPA.
After bottling I seemed to recall another 6pk of Sam Adams 12oz bottles that I might have kept from the last garage cleaning. Sure enough, but it's too late for this time but I've got them soaking now cleaning them out and removing the labels.

Gonna take the Bassett for a short walk then brew Ithaca Beer Company's Flower Power IPA. I've never had it before, but the recipe was in the latest BYO magazine. I figured what the heck, I happen to have all the ingredients on hand. That's how I roll.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I kegged 10 gallons of IPA last week and I think there's still 7 gallons left. The Labor Day weekend just happened to arrive in time for that batch so I'm sure I'll need to be brewing again soon. I'm writing about Stout a lot lately but before jumping into brewing a batch I'll be brewing some California Steamin' first. It's the closest thing to a Lager I've brewed in years unfortunately, but I really like the style.

Ok, I also roll by having Graham my chicken friend swing by. Which causes me to forget to take a SG reading. Last reading at T-10 was 1.070 with SG being 1.073, so I'll call it close enough. I also forgot about a 3oz dry hop which will eat away a some finished beer and only transferred 5.5 gallons to the fermenter instead of 6. But having a good friend over while brewing is priceless.Inkleg wrote:That's how I roll.
Yeast is pitched at 65* and all is well.

Mid-way through the boil of a fiver of Dead Guy. It's been too long since I made this.
Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
RedBEERd and I just bottled our version of the 4 Kilt Clueless.
Not sure what it's supposed to taste like but it seemed fine to me. We'll know more in a few weeks.

Dry-hopped a batch of Anniversary IPA with Amarillo whole leaf hops, brewed a clone recipe of Heretic's Evil Twin (featuring Columbus & Citra hops), & then brewed a batch of Fresh Cascade Hop Pale Ale. My LHBS was closed for the holiday, and I had used the last of my Munich & Crystal malts brewing the Evil Twin, so I brewed up a simple ale recipe with the fresh hops I scored Sunday evening. 90% Pale malt, 10% Flaked rice, boiled for 90 minutes. Fresh hops were added at 60 minutes, 30 minutes, & 0 minutes. The U.S.-05 yeast is working on this one on Tuesday morning with about 1" of krausen.

About a week and a half into a 3 gallon, 100% Apple Juice Cider with Lavin EC-1118 yeast and about a teaspoon and a half of Diamonium Phosphate (DAP) nutrient... Seems to be progressing nicely...
Just kegged a fiver of my Belgi-Merican IPA... Tastes great but not as hoppy as I hoped... Maybe I'll call it a Pale Ale instead...
Brewed a Hefeweizen yesterday and pitched with WY-3638 Bavarian Wheat... Should be interesting...
Lag time was about 20 hours and it's rip roaring right now...
Gotta get moving on a MockToberFest and another historical beer this coming week or this weekend...
Bought another Corny this week too...
And then there's the pears... So many pears... And the peach festival is this weekend... Yikes!

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I don't have anything to bottle at the moment, but on Sunday, I'll be brewing a 2.5 gallon batch of Black Hops. It's a Cascadian Dark Ale (or Black IPA) that was the result of last fall's RCE. I was paired with BeerRust, and we had a good time researching the style and putting the recipe together. I recall I was pretty pleased with the result.
