My LHBS gave me flaked oats instead of flaked wheat for an IPA that I am brewing tomorrow. I put it in the with the rest of the grains before I noticed the error. I plan on just brewing it and see what happens. What do you guys think?
Here is the recipe:
8# two row
3.8 oz C40
5.6 oz Carapils
3.2 oz flaked oats
.85 Magnum 90 minutes
.25 Cascade 30 minutes
.45 Cascade 15 minutes
.25 Amarillo 5 minutes
.25 Simcoe 5 minutes.
Mash 152 90 minutes
ABV 7.2 2.5 gallon batch
its inspires by Russian River's Blind Pig. Its a Pico Brew recipe.
The hop additions on the pico are very different than regular brewing. Anything past 5 minutes doesn't get full utilization and there are ways around this by adding to the keg instead of the pico. I don't fully understand it yet. This is my second brew.

Oats for Wheat?
No worries...
Very small amount (assuming 3.2 ounces), you won't notice a difference.
