I am embarrassed to admit that with my more than 11 lbs of hops, I have no Cascade right now. Sounds like I need to get my buddy some Cascades and maybe pick up some for myself.

So instead of going to a REAL LHBS, I went to The Laughing Buddha homebrew and garden store (I mentioned this a year or so ago that a homebrewer who owns a landscaping/garden business sells some homebrew supplies in his small shop) and I did get 1/2 lb of various hops for my friend to try that is likely something he can't get in NZ.
The sad thing is, I looked at their liquid yeast and almost all of them had best use before dates of November 2014! I mentioned this to the young boy there and he said he'd tell the owner but they do sell them. I also noticed that they no longer seem to offer as much as they did which wasn't much to begin with. So, I guess it's not going well for them and I never thought it would.
But, mission accomplished.

I wonder if that has something to do with it. Not sure if it's the tail wagging the dog, but that's not good regardless.
