Sorry...my computer ate what I was typing...
Yes, we moved to Lacey, Wa.
I also made my first (in a very long time) batch of Nong Biskies. Our two girls, Zoey & Winnie, love them. Weiner Heads...gotta love them. Zoey hangs out by the Fridge where I keep the biskies. Silly a furchild.
And as far as the Newbie group...I understand there is an excellent Guide for that buried here somewhere....

The Nong Brewery defines "Fermentation" as: Making "Rot" a Good Thing

I guess you gotta luv them double posts as well....
Oh, and FD aka the Hat, was kind enough to shoot me a recipe for one of his brews. I will be doing that in the future.

I brewed a Double IPA on the day before my birthday and it was not so great.
Haven't done squat all year. Between buying a house, packing and unpacking, I really haven't had any inspiration.
Last night I kegged my 315th batch since Jan, 2010 .... most of them 5 gal batches except the MrB days the first couple years. I gave away very little, drank most of it except what's sitting in the five keg pipeline conditioning.
I quit "recipe" brewing a few years ago. I go to LHBS, "hop shop", get 50lb sacks of grain, rarely use specialty grains any more except for occasional stout ...
When I brew I go to fridge and just go "hmmm ... Nelson sauvin .... or hmmm ... Simcoe (great IPA!) ... or whatever strikes my fancy and brew away. I don't use Qbrew for anything anymore, I just write down grain bill and hop particulars in my notebook for the batch ... after so many brews, I don't have to 'figure' anything.
I am trying a "less bitter" roasted malt for my latest stout ... it's still fermenting ... we'll see. But outside of that, very little experimenting any more. I haven't made a brown or a red in ages ... they're not my favorites, and require recipe tweeks and thoughts and I never made one that was a eureka moment, so I just by default phased out of them ... mostly because also because I only really use american brewers malt for base and just never really get pisen, maris otter, or anything outside the box any more.
I make great ales (like you) and I'm happy.
Oh BTW my electric induction burner is still ok to get to srike temp for mash ... but won't hold boil anymore ... so I mash indoors ... and got a propane burner and bring boil outside, which I'm not crazy about. But at least all the equipment, stays near the slop sink, and the brew pot is the only thing that goes outside ... and comes back in for the cool down. I imagine when there's snow on the ground can sit it in that for the cool down.
By the way, I'm still brewing our RCE recipe, 2Daves Irish Red on a regular basis. I love that beer! I'm gonna make a batch in mid-February, so it'll be kegged and ready to tap on St. Patrick's Day!

I just went back and viewed some of the earlier pages of this thread, while updating my entry (just brewed my final batch for the year today).
Wow, some of you have been very busy! (Dave, Steve, mashani, jimjohnson, I'm lookin' at you....)
Good on ya.
Crazy Climber:
I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.
Yeah, I do try to brew every Sunday if I'm able. It's just a nice way for me to spend my Sunday mornings. Besides, I like a lot of variety in my pipeline (and I drink a lot of beer, it seems).
