Founders coming to California

Post by Kealia »

"Founders Brewing Co. (Grand Rapids, MI) is expanding distribution to Nevada and Northern California. Fans in both areas can expect beers from Founders lineup in October."

I guess that means I will soon be able to try their All Day IPA which I hear good things about. How are their Pale Ale and Centennial IPA?

I highly recommend this one. I feel it's the best out of all of their line up.

Honestly, I hear a lot about Breakfast Stout so I am interested in trying it. Maybe it will be "The One".

I like All Day IPA too. I think I like New Belgian Slow Ride better though. I can't find that really low abv one you guys have been drinking, so I can't compare them to it.

I'm always amused by the fact that I drink a lot more of beers when they are less available. I used to haul Founders back on my Indiana trips, but as it's been available here for a while now, I rarely if ever buy it. Same with Flat 12, Lagunitas, New Holland, Green Flash, Tilquin, and several others. I'll probably end up doing the same thing with Bell's. I guess I always covet that which I can't easily get.

As for Founders... their breakfast stout variants are incredible, and I'm sure they will be on your short list, Kealia. Centennial has always been one of my favorite IPAs... I prefer it to Double Trouble, Red's Rye, and especially Devil Dancer, but that's just my IPA preference. Crumudgeon, Backwoods Bastard, and Dirty Bastard are all so good. And Rubaeus... Hmm... I guess I should get some Founders soon...

I'm the same way. I rarely buy Lagunitas IPA because I can get it anywhere and I somehow think I need to be drinking something else. But, whenever I do have one I'm reminded of how good it is. I tend to buy the stuff that I can't get anywhere like their Censored or Day Time Fractional instead.

I'm looking forward to giving Founders a try soon.
