Thanks again for both the votes and the congrats.
1) When did you start brewing and how did you become interested?
I started brewing in '08.
Sometime before then I had tasted someone's home brew Heffeweisen and it was one of the best beers I had ever had. That started me exploring commercial beer styles a bit more.
Then a friend of mine invited me to one of his beer brewing sessions. I didn't have the slightest idea what he was doing with all the boiling and sparging but he made beer. Way too much work to go to when it is so simple to just walk into a store and buy beer. For Christmas someone gave him a can of extract (for a 5 gallon beer) and I watched him make that. Now that was pretty simple so I googled home made extract beer. I found two possibilities. Either a Coopers extract kit or a Mr. Beer extract kit. I went with the Mr. Beer kit because it was smaller and cheaper, in case I really didn't want to continue after a brew or two. So, no, I did not start because someone got me a kit for the holidays. I chose the kit I started with and I have always felt I chose wisely. I brewed a number of Mr. Beer brews (with various tweaks) then moved on to 5 gallon batches with steeping grains and hop boil. I had learned enough with my Mr. Beer brews that I just bought a selection of equipment I felt I needed. Never took gravities until I started with all grain and bought a refractometer. I started all grain even though I was perfectly happy with the extract beers I was making because I found some instructions that showed me how to make a small batch all grain beer using mostly equipment I already had. That includes sparging in a mesh lined 6.5 bottling bucket which I continue to do now. I have learned how to malt my own grains and have made a small number of beers with them. I grew my own cascade hops for a couple of seasons and made a couple of beers using only my home grown hops. I have made an experimental beer using yeast collected from fermenting local raw honey. I have made a "sour malt" I like from raw barley. Now-a-days I enjoy making whatever beer strikes my fancy to brew.

My only answer to this now would be to share some home brew with the folks from the old MBF site.
3) What is your favorite beer?
Since I like a variety of beers I don't have a favorite. Sometimes a nice IPA, sometimes something nice and malty, sometimes a nice pilsner...
4) Do you have a beer recipe you'd like to share?
Right now one of the beers I am most impressed with is the 1879 William Younger No.1 recipe from the Barclay Perkins site that LouieMacGoo and I did for the previous RCE. This is a wonderful beer.
