just remember, not all podcasts are created equal. the ones where it is just two guys talking.. I can't handle them very long. Really well done ones, have production and music, sound effects.. etc..
to be fair, I have not listened to any BeerSmith ones, but I did add them to my iphone podcast app...

Try this trick, and spin it.

I listen during my morning walk and my afternoon gym time and there's a lot of BS but there's also lots of good info and ideas.

I really like the Brew Strong episodes from Jamil and John Palmer although some people find them to be arrogant and annoying. To me, it's a relaxed and fun conversation like sitting with a couple of guys at the bar and B.S.ing. but it may be an acquired taste, too.
Re: Guess what dummy just figured out podcasts!!!
I like most of the Brewing Network stuff and sometimes laugh out loud listening to JP and some of the Session stuff.
Probably the most helpful to me though is Basic Brewing. It isn't all basic though. It's corny sometimes but most of the podcasts (and youtube stuff too) are very informative. And if's family safe for those who don't use earphones like me.

I'll add my appreciation of the Beersmith, Basic Brewing Radio, Brew Strong, and Brewing with Style podcasts. I agree that Jamil's comments get a bit unnecessary, but the amount of information lets me just ignore that. They make great listening as I drive to and from work. First I listened to recent episodes, then decided I should go back to their beginning and hear them all, and will catch up before long. Also, with my interest in mead and cider, I add Meadmakr and Gotmead Live.

Sometimes have to take the BN podcasts lightly. The thing I keep in mind is they are sitting around drinking and with that comes more entertainment or less...depending. My favorite BN Podcasts are the style shows, talking about the recipe styles I have learned a ton of tips, tricks and other info. The CYBI episodes with clone recipes from the Brewers are awesome, they have great interviews with the brew masters.

Just need to find time to download a bunch to my ipod to listen to the episodes that are blocked thru work.

Steve, they block out podcasts at work but not a beer forum? At least they have priorities.
I really can't blame businesses for doing things like that because I know I spend more time BSing at work than I should but since I'm the owner, at least I get done what is needed so I can control it but I can just imagine the shopping, porn, Facebooking etc that goes on around offices while work is not getting done.
What did we do before the internet? (you babies can't know what that was like)

Not all, I can get Beersmith, and Brewers Friend, can't get HBT, Brewing Network and BYO. Can go to numerous homebrew supply sites can't do AIH, AHA, Beer Advocate etc.

Agreed. I like CYBI, too. That's where I got recipes for Firestone's Double Barrel Ale and Stone's Levitation.MadBrewer wrote:Sometimes have to take the BN podcasts lightly. If you enjoy a little 8th grade humor (sometimes I do) and have a lot of time on your hands, The Session from The Brewing Network can get into some really in depth brewing info. It may take you 4 hrs to dig up 2 or 3 little tidbits. Listen to anything with Dan Gordon.
