Competition results

Post by russki »

A couple weeks ago I put 4 of my beers into a small homebrew competition at a local beer and wine festival. The judging was last weekend, and I finally got my score sheets. To say I was surprised is an understatement!

All scored in the high-30s to low 40s, with one taking 3rd place overall and the other taking BOS.

Now I get to brew my BOS Baltic Porter on a production scale at Mickey Finn's Brewery in Libertyville IL, probably sometime in October!

Nice work. Will you be using your nice setup to brew the Baltic Porter? Or using their larger production gear?

Oh, it's gonna be quite a bit larger than my little brewery :) I think they have a 10 bbl brewhouse. The beer we're brewing will be served at a fundraiser for a local community center - it's all for a great cause!

Thanks guys (and gals)! I will make sure to document the big brew day!

I have to say that The Borg is largely responsible for helping me grow as a brewer - I would not be where I am now without the advice of my mentors!

I agree, the knowledge and the confidence I got (get) from the borg is a huge help. You can get answers faster than calling 911.
