BT Pale Ale

Brewed this in the afternoon today and it was a great day to brew - a crisp but sunny fall day here in Indiana. Kicked my keg of pale ale earlier this week, so I am a bit behind schedule for another batch.

Recipe: BT Pale Ale
Brewer: Lagerpmp
Style: APA
TYPE: All Grain

Very simple recipe, sometimes these are the best drinking beers we can make. What does the BT stand for? I ask cause those letters also are in the name of a vendor of ours from the Goshen, Indiana area.

Sometimes it's hard to name a beer, but for this one it was easy for me. BT - in honor of a close friend that passed away a few weeks ago. He would have enjoyed drinking a pint of this beer with me. I will salute him many times from this batch.

I kegged this one over the weekend (after a cold crash of 6 days) and quick carbed it so I could have a couple of pints on Sunday. This is a very good early drinker at 4 weeks. I love these simple pale ales - so easy to produce a high quality beer. I had a pale ale at B.J.'s. over the weekend and laughed because I knew mine was way better than the one I had just paid 6 bucks for. Not always the case, but on this one- yes.

That's a great feeling. I've had a bit of a quality slump this year. But my latest batch, a Belgian "Pale" (okay, it's more red) is rather good. And I'm drinking an older Belgian Strong and last year's pumpkin, all very good.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

Sounds like a nice beer. I have yet to brew a nice Pale Ale I have been happy with. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, just haven't made one yet I have trully enjoyed.

Ditto. Still searching myself.

I like how some beers name themselves. Not every beer is name worthy. That one will stick.

Should be the one style to brew with ease right Pudge. lol

Maybe its my brewing style and process more than anything. Pale Ales and IPA I just havent been able to hit tbe mark.

There was an awesome, awesome brewer over at MBF that had faded away making only an occasional appearance... Norm!

He had several award winners one of which I did manage to snag before the site went down... his APA. Wish I had snatched his American Brown. One of his secret ingredients was a pinch of Honey Malt... to the point we referred to it as Normy Malt.

Gotta give it a whirl sometime, Kenny.

I'm also seeking the perfect APA.
I've used Honey Malt in a Rye PA that was very good.

A long while back Norm sent me a bottle of his F#%$ Yeah Pale Ale and his Big Brown Butt Brown Ale. I have vague memory of the beer, but I know it was good. I don't think I ever did see the recipe for either one. You will have to let me take a looksy. I still have Janet's Brown Ale on my to brew list speaking of Brown Ales....one day.
