Who's brewing this weekend?

Post by Beer-lord »

Anyone going to take advantage of the holiday and brew this weekend or Monday?
I'm planning on it if I can. If so, it'll be the 4th brew in 5 weeks. That'll be pretty sweet for the pipeline. I have to rack the Pliny to a secondary and can use the yeast cake of the 05 or, since I'm kegging the Levitation I can use the yeast cake of the 04. Hmmmm, such big decisions for LABOR DAY!
So, Sunday or Monday is the plan for now then I'll take a few weeks off and hopefully, it'll be 4 degrees cooler by then. :uwish:

I plan to do a quick brew with the leftover MB ingredients I have. Haven't quite firmed up the recipe yet. I will be putting it in my new BD Conical probably Sunday evening!

I haven't brewed since May 4th when I did a Oberon Clone BIAB recipe for National HomeBrew Day. But after tomorrow I have the until Sept 9th off of work and plan to do some brewing, starting this weekend. Just a couple of BrewDemon Recipes to start out with, American Prophecy Ale - (old WCPA) with some Columbus hops and crystal grains and the Sinful Swill Vienna Lager (Octoberfest) with the melow amber LME.

Then I might have to head down to Adventures in Homebrewing to get some supplies for an AG batch or two. Image

Looking at doing a five gal AG Sorachi Ace SMaSH with 2 row and pitching it onto a Nottingham yeast cake in a brew I've got going in my Ale Pail.

Been trying to get this done for about 6 weeks now. Between the delay in my hops shipment and having to restock SWMBO Nelson Sauvin brew, this will probably finally get finished!

Also, plan on a smoked brisket or a couple of racks o' ribs!

My 3-week brewing cycle normally would have been last weekend, but that was move-in day as my daughter starts college. So I bottled my saison Monday night (started as a Dupont clone that I wanted to try as a Belgian Blond using a different yeast, but it ended up over 90% attenuation, so it's a saison after all), then brewed a modification of the old MB line's King's Nectar (a blonde ale HME, DME, honey, grape juice, & saffron, with Willamette hops) last night. This weekend I will be brewing some small (1-gallon) batches to compare the results of a simple pale ale recipe using different yeasts.

Bottled my Belle Of The Ball saison earlier this week and then realized I have absolutely nothing cooking, and with tailgate season starting up I had better get moving. So making a Riesling tonite with SWMBO to get that cooking, drink homebrews (and then some) at the game Saturday, most likely recover Sunday, and with the wife working Monday I have a brew'oliday to make the AHS Lemon Wheat assuming it shows up. Was planning for last weekend but man are they slow at getting things shipped out.

I haven't brewed anything up since about March and now with my BrewDemon ingredients here I am anxious. So hoping that I will have some free time to brew up a batch and if I have enough time maybe a 2nd, since I have 3 empty LBKs here.

Just brewed a Rye / Wheat today! (Does that count?)

Still have the English Barleywine in the fermenter from last week...

Will probably do a Belgian this weekend... Maybe a tweaked blonde... Try to improve that one a bit.

And I need to do another batch of my Belgan IPA...

Might have to brew twice this weekend for. Total of three brews this week!

IF you brew 3 times in 1 week, you're the winner! Now tell me each batch is 10 gallons! :wow:

Yeah, boy!

I plan on brewing up a fiver of Pearly Pils, so it'll be ready for Homebrew Alley 8 in February. It'll be my first 5-gallon AG in a couple months.

Got 2 batches of Belgians that need bottling, the Mr. B Saison and a Brewferm Grand Cru, so doing that. Might try to fit in an 2.5 gallon AG hefe, have a smack pack of Wyeast 3068 to use.

I would like to. I haven't had any time to brew the past couple weeks. Maybe the holiday will afford me the opportunity. But, dove season does open on Sunday, so I won't hold my hopes too high. I got some dove killin' to do!
