Knightmare wrote:So after a 9 month debacle of extra workload and getting through a relocation, I finally get a chance to brew again. I had to dust off the equipment and relearn some things! I have brewed a beer since January. I took some vacation time this week and have 3 five gal all grain batches set up. First on the docket is Screwer in the Rye which is one of my all time favorites based on a collaboration with Screwy Brewer. Props to Vince for such a tasty brew. I also be doing a wheat and a coconut Porter this week as well as as doing a collaboration sour later this week. Heck, I'm just glad to be brewing again! Lack of time to brew has sucked. Big time! Getting ready to toss a few oz of hops now.

Salute to the Borg once again. :urock:
Welcome back, it's been a while! It's always good to reconnect with brewing buddies, nice to know we're still kickin' around and brewing. After going through some past recipes there was the Tallgrass Oasis ESB-IPA, using 'Wyeast 1450 - Denny's Favorite 50'. To be honest, my brewing a batch of Screwer In The Rye is long past overdue, even though there have been requests to brew it since moving. Best of luck to you on your new location and good to see you're back and brewing again.

Glad to here you are brewing again and look forward to your (re) assimilation. :borg:

What is the facial hair status these days?

Thanks all for the kind welcome words. Unfortunately, I'm bald faced this season. That sucks because my beer will suffer for it! I mean, it's proven! Only the best beer is made by bearded men. Pretty sure it's because of the ability to store extra hops and yeast. Damn! I'm screwed again. Please tell me my latest brews will be ok! I'll definitely be growing some scruff for my next brew day. How the hell did I forget this most important step???!!!

You'll have to update us on bald faced brewing. I just shaved my beard, I've never brewed without it.

Well, I finally kegged these 2 batches yesterday. Both smelled delicious and fermented out nicely. Should be drinking both for Christmas. :fedora: :fedora: :fedora: :D :D :D Looking forwarded to having my boss over for some homebrew. He's been giving me a hard time about it. "I heard you make good beer. Never had any, so it must be a myth.". I think he'll be pleasantly surprised! I also rebuilt 4 kegs and washed the yeast just to keep myself motivated to maintain the pipeline. :give:

I guess this should be asked at the kegging/bottling section but I'm a curious non-kegger so what does rebuilding kegs mean?

Sorry for the late response Brewbirds. I change the poppits and all the seals on the kegs to get rid of any off flavor sand to prevents leaks.

When I first started posting from a tablet, I'd often just hit send without looking. Autocorrect still messes up sometimes, but back then, the results were often utter gibberish. By the time I'd see it again, even I couldn't figure out what I had meant to say.

I'm the same way, it'd save me a ton of time if I'd just look up before hitting enter.
