Reminds me of the Halloween blizzard we had here about 5 years ago. Power was out for almost a week. 2-plus feet of snow. We had no generator, so decided to pack up the family and head for hotels about an hour away. But...we had lots of food in the stand-up freezer, including some pricey steaks and seafood, which would certainly go to waste. What to do? Before leaving home, I packed up the food into some coolers, dug into the snowdrifts on the deck, and buried the coolers.brewnewb wrote:I have a pic somewhere that shows it from the inside. We open the door and stick beer cans in the snow packD_Rabbit wrote:That balcony is fantastic!!
When power was finally restored and we came home 6 days later, all the food was still frozen.
