Anyone Brewing This Weekend?

Post by ScrewyBrewer »

I'm brewing a nice IPA this morning, just about half way through the mash now. Lots of Chinook, Magnum and Cascades in this 10 gallon batch, about 16 ounces all together.
I've brewed this one a few times before and keep upping the Cascades a bit each time. The temperature is close to 60F here today making for some perfect brewing weather too.

I have so much beer right now that I have no room for more but plan on brewing in the next 2 weeks for sure.
The weather is really getting nice now and I have to take advantage of that.
Enjoy your brewday!

Yep, gotta stop buying craft beer and just drink homebrew but Ghost came out with another batch (not expected) and then there's some beer brought back from Asheville. And to make things harder, I don't drink much doing the week so I have quite a lot of beer I need to drink on weekends!

Will be kegging and keg hopping my Belgian IPA later today...

Next two brews on deck are the RCE with Screwy and something with this RedX malt that I have... Maybe a mesquite smoked IPA... Or an Imperial Red... Not sure yet... (Leaning toward the smoked IPA though, been thinking about it for some time now...)

(Also seem to need a coffee stout, so I have to get to that soon so I can queue up a wheat for spring/summer!)

It sure is warm enough to brew today. But I'm holding off. I Kegged my Ace of Spades Black IPA though, and have a 6 pound brisket on the smoker for dinner tonight.

I'm DYING to brew soon....been a while but there always seems to be something else that comes up.......but the weather here has been unseasonably warm and I'm wasting it. :(

But I did score 4 - 4pks of Ghost in the Machine this weekend :shots:

I brew every Sunday (or nearly every Sunday). I bottled a batch of Fedorus Magnus Kölsch this morning, and I'm going to brew a batch of Tennessee Cream Ale tomorrow.

Yesterday was one of the best days I've spent brewing in quite some time. First of all I was able to hit all of my volumes and didn't miss a single boil addition. Once again the kettle tried to boil over but lucky for me I caught it just in the nick of time to prevent another spill. Last brewday all it took was answering a phone call and over it went, adding about half an hour of clean up time to the day. Even the tap water was cold from last weeks deep freeze here, making wort chilling a breeze.

This morning there was already some bubbling in the airlock and the rest of the brewroom was looking all neat and tidy, thankfully I did all of the cleanup yesterday. Today I plan to just take it easy, tinker a bit with some ideas for a new recipe, drink some Kolsch and think about the nice 6% IPA I've added to my pipeline.

No brewing this weekend. I did get my Kolsch going this past Wednesday. When I brew it's mostly early on a Sunday morning or early weekday morning before going to work afternoons. The next beer is going to be a big Pale Ale and I'm thinking of getting that going as soon as the Kolsh is done with the bulk of primary fermentation and I can let the temps rise and use the temp controller for the next batch.

Yes, as a matter of fact I am. I am making my famous pink Saison; 3oz Hibiscus and a can of frozen white grape juice, 1 lb gold dme, 3/4 lb pilsner dme, 1 oz belma 6 minutes (23 IBU) Belle Saison yeast in an LBK. A nice Springy beer. Yumm... Can't wait. :)

I'll be working in the brew room this weekend, tending to some overflowing airlocks from my latest IPA and bottling some Kolsch beer. I will brew the XIPA recipe BigPapaG and I are doing for the RCE though, it's going to be a very interesting brew day and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm asst brewer for RedBEERd tomorrow for a nice pale ale he's redoing. We did this one for his daughters graduation and it was so well received he wanted to do it again.
I'll have to wait until next weekend to get another going for me.
This time of year is when the weather really starts to get nice for brewing with perfect temps and very low humidity.

I have to keg the batch of 2Daves Irish Red this weekend. Don't know if I'm going to do it today or tomorrow. I worked this morning, and I'm feeling kind of lazy right now.

But I have to keg it, since it's ready, and since I intend to brew a batch of Crown Top Pale Ale on Sunday.
