Do I have a Problem?

Post by John Sand »

I bought another tap tower. And the first one isn't even here yet. But it's so cool.

I bid on the first one and lost, before buying the new one. I can justify this purchase too: Mom gave me checks for my birthday and Christmas.
I'm going to move the new faucets and hoses into the neato antique brass tower.
Or, do I have a problem? :D

Well, now I'm trying to combine the tap towers. Just two problems: the shanks are different diameters, and the old shank nuts are soldered. I have a torch and I'm buying a step drill.

Thanks Steve. I really like it. And I'll be happy when I can switch from picnic taps.

Scored Some Handles

Post by John Sand »

A little update: I've been shopping handles. I got two basic plastic ones with the new tower, and I have a plastic chalkboard one from a kickstarter. But I wanted something nicer for the brass tower. It has to be classic, wood, brass, ceramic, something that wouldn't clash with the vintage tower. I bid on a few on ebay, drooled over some I can't afford, brainstormed about making my own, or modifying one. Today while looking through boxes of old hardware in an antique store, I found two white ceramic lever handles probably from old bathroom faucets. Two bucks each. Score! They are not threaded, but the inside is wide enough. I just have to secure the threaded stud in them. They are just what I imagined.
