Or maybe your not. There are a lot of people out there now claiming to be Microbrew drinkers and will only drink that but have no clue about the flavors or off flavors that may be present. The could just be in the "something shiny" phase of something new and have a bias because they just like the place or atmosphere and don't have a lot of actual beer knowledge.

I would recommend giving them another shot. Really focus on 1-2 specific styles that they have on tap and maybe try around some of those styles and get a good idea of what should be present in the aroma, flavor, and bittering end. Download a beer judging sheet that gives you a description of some of the off flavors. http://www.bjcp.org/docs/SCP_BeerScoreSheet.pdf

In the end though, if they are making beer and you don't like it than there are plenty of fish in the Microbrewery ocean right now to sample. Spend the money where they have good beer.
