Rick, sorry to hear you guys are going thru this. It's NEVER easy. My wife had a few similar but minor things like that happen when her parents died (16 days apart) and if we're lucky enough to have our parents live a long life, we likely will all go thru similar things.
For me, since I have only 1 daughter, I have and will continue to do what I can to make our later years and passing as easy as necessary so she won't have too much on her at that time. I am lucky...I have 3 great brothers and an average sister to help when things take the natural path with our mom.

Congratulations, Li'l Sis! You're gonna be very busy, but it'll be worth it. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with extract recipes. I've got a couple of good ones in the stable for when life gets hectic and the brew schedule is a bit compromised.
Rick, I'm sorry you're in this position. It's difficult enough to see parents get old and infirm (I'm going through this now with my own father), but having them be unprepared makes it that much tougher.
Because... I Like beer, I work hard for my beer, beer makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, beer got me through 3 nights and 4 days in NYC , Beer makes me happy , beer makes my pot belly seem smaller than it actually is , a great time, night, conversation usually involves a beer, and Beer makes it easy to just say piss on it and move on!!

Siri knows where to find sadness in every city, unfortunately cause of the comedian, that has done some viral videos about the Browns, that coined that phrase, Siri points out Browns Stadium OH WELL!

Because (so far) I have overcome the challenges of making new sail covers with a 1963 Stradivaro DeLuxe sewing machine. It's a Japanese Singer knock off that I picked up years ago in a yard sale for $5. The manual that came with it is for an older Japanese knock off, a Precision Master. It's a good machine, all steel drive, but I have to trouble shoot generically. Clutch releases? Try oiling it first, check. Adjust tensions by the book, no good, wing it. Thread breaks.... well, you get the drift. But If I pull it off, I'll save $1000.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.
Because we went to pickup my elderly in-laws from their assisted living to take the to visit a gravely sick relative when the car died (new starter last week) in heavy rain (maybe alternator). Luckily I drove into a large parking lot as it died, called dealer who immediately sent a loaner car to keep us on our way and we got them there for their visit. Came home, two Edmund Fitzgerald Porter clones. Day went as good as it could of.
