The AA of hops can vary quite a lot. And it actually goes down with age too, especially if you don't keep them in the freezer. At 6 months you might only get 50% of what it says if you store it a room temp depending on the hop variety - some are more stable then others.

EDIT: Most packages of hops will give you the AA that they actually were when packaged. Use that number, or less if they are old.
