Water, water everywhere...

Post by alb »

Does anybody have any special pointers for kegging and carbonating water? I imagine it’s pretty much the same as for beer but if not, I’d like to know what’s different. At least if something goes wrong, I’ve only lost 5 gallons of water and not valuable beer. :)

Carbonating water is the same procss as for beer... Except for one big difference... Uh... It's not beer!

Actually the bigger difference will be the lack of head retention.

That is to say, it will be carbonated as soda pop is carbonated...

Which is what one would suspect...

Same pressures and temps should apply though.

I haven't tried, though I'd consider it if I had room in the kegerator. I would heat the water first to evaporate the chlorine.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

Gas laws are gas laws. Biggest difference is that beer starts off with some residual CO2 so beer will get carbed to your desired level just a little bit quicker.
