Just finished bottling the Middletown Pale Ale I brewed with Inkleg at the demo we had at my shop.

Brewed a 5-gal blonde ale with 1 oz. each at flameout: Galaxy, Mosaic, Amarillo. S-04 yeast. I’m going to dry hop a few days with Citra whole hops after primary fermentation.

Finally got my brewday in from the previous weekend. Brewed up 11 g of my Beyond The Dark Dry Irish Stout that will be split between keg and aged in a barrel. As the mash was doing it's thing I kegged 5.5 G Traveling Irish Red, slurried up the remaining yeast cake (WLP004) and split between 2 fermenting buckets. Hit my numbers as close as I have in a while 1.047 supposed to be 1.050, but had about a quart and a half more volume, which probably would have been dead on with 10 more minutes in the boil. But I will take this as close enough. Closed up the buckets @5:00 pm last evening and happy airlocks this morning @ 5:30 am.

I enjoyed the time we spent brewing Jim and wish I had felt well enough to hang around longer on brew day. Had a chance to keg mine on Saturday. Keg full to just below the gas tube with some left over. I put that in a 2 liter bottle with a carbonator cap and force carbed it. Had a glass when I got home tonight, good stuff. I'll be pouring from the keg in two weeks and don't expect it to last long.

It was great to see you again and we will have to do it again soon.

@ Inkleg

Jeff, assume you mean 2 liter pet bottles yes?

How much pressure you using in those?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Thanks!

It's one of my favorites. Getting it to last is always a problem...for me anyway  Hopefully we'll get a better turn out next time.

@BigPapaG

Yep, just a 2 liter tonic water bottle and one of these. I'll fill it with as much beer as I have left, squeeze the air out of it and hit it with around 25 psi, shake it until the Co2 goes into the beer and the bottle feels soft, repeat until the bottle stays hard and toss in the fridge. I did this Saturday tried it later that night. I'll post a picture when I pour a glass tomorrow night. This works the same as force carbing a keg (though I just set and forget with them).

Cool, thanks...

I don't mind hitting a keg with 25-30 lbs because they are rated for a lot more...

I would have thought that pet bottles would not be rated high enough to handle 25 psi

Interesting...

Thanks!

Just finished kegging the Kiwi Expree IPA from Northern Brewer. Seemed pretty mild for an IPA. We'll see what it turns into after its carbed.

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out Chris.
@BigPapaG, sorry for the late follow up, though I might have posted this elsewhere. This glass on Middletown Pale Ale was poured 24 hours later.
