Here's a pic of it just about to be connected. The piece on the cooler is slightly larger and the manifold slides right into it.

I use piece of tubing between manifold and nipple do not clamp it, od of clear fits the id of cpvc and id of clear fits over od of nipple, corners of manifold fit fairly tight to radius of cooler. I have been using a large LD Carlson grain bag in the tun the last 5 or 6 batches somewhat eliminates stuck sparge and extremely helpful in cleanup. Installed slots down.

Dawg, that's exactly what I do. But I'm intrigued by the Duck's set-up. If the fittings on the rigid connections are snug enough, it seems to me it would be more stable. And the cost of getting the connection is minimal if it doesn't work out. I may investigate this ASAP.

Dave....This is the kind of fitting I used that is attached to the cooler. This isn't the same size, but at least you can get an idea of what it is. Then the CPVC pipe on the manifold simply slides right in. I would say the manifold slides into the fitting about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch. It's pretty stable.

I'll have to see if I can thread it onto the nipple. I was under the impression that it was just another CPVC adapter piece, which might also work, if they make 'em and I can find one.

First, I'm going to replace the tubing and see if that, along with careful mashing in, does the trick. Aside from the one incident where I knocked the manifold clear off the nipple, I haven't had any problems getting my runnings.

Thanks for all the info!
