Dale's Pale Ale or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Which would you prefer?
I'm drinking a Dale's right now, but would vote SNPA. Dale's is simply a bit too big for APA. Ironically, Harpoon IPA (one of my first) is listed on the 2008 BJCP guidelines as an example of the style. I'd say Dale's Pale Ale is a more classic example of an IPA than Harpoons.

SNPA.
What's funny about Dales Pale is that their IPA is actually lower ABV. ???

I like both but give the nod to SN because it's more balanced to my taste buds.

SNPA for sure. I have only had Dales' once or twice but I remember it being much hoppier. SNPA is much more balanced. I had one the other night while out drinking and really enjoyed it.

Agreed, SNPA. While it's far from my favorite Pale Ale I find it much smoother and easier to drink than Dale's.
Re: Dale's Pale Ale or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
I very much prefer Dale's. But it's definitely an IPA. I used to think of SN as the definitive APA. But the last one I had was a little disappointing. I may have become too used to hoppy ales.

I think I'm with you. Nothing against Dale's Pale Ale, but it is definitely an IPA in my opinion.
SNPA might be dated, but it is still a classic APA in my mind. It is a good touchstone beer I think all should have every now and then. SNPA, Boston Lager, etc. It is good to return to some of those beers to keep yourself grounded.

In fact, it happens to me anyway Pudge. As much as I seek new and interesting craft beers, there are plenty of times that is not an option. I was in a Landshark Grill in Fort Lauderdale airport last night for dinner. I was pleased to see Goose Island IPA on the menu. But they were out. I ordered Sam Adams instead. Nice aroma, beautiful beer, good flavor. I thought, "This is a very good tap beer".
