Assimilation Complete
Hello to all!
I am a new brewer and am happy to be here. Since I am new to this wonderful beer-world, a lot of the topics can seem complicated for me here on the borg forum.
As a good newbie I am taking one step at a time. However, despite my newbie-ness I was able to look at (and understand) some of the topics and discussions and I have realized 2 things:
1. The wealth of information here is vast thanks to brewers of varying degrees of experience using different methods of brewing.
2. The culture on this forum is attentive, well-intentioned and of good spirit (the spirit of beer you might say).
Usually on forums of many kinds out there in the internet world you see comments by people that can be mean spirited and unkind to the average newbie, remarking on his lack of knowledge and bashing newbie-dom with a fierce iron fist. Glancing through this forum I see only help and good intentions from the more veteran and skilled which leads me to believe the only thing everyone really cares about is, well...brewing. No bragging, no snarky comments, no intentions of making someone else mess up their entire batch and have to start over with advice from the next potential newbie-terminator. It's all love for producing the perfect brew with the means available...even if it's not your own brew!
So to all, thanks for this mountain of information and experience on so many topics related to beer. And extra thanks for not bragging about the knowledge. You all have a great forum here and I am humbled just to write this first post.
I just bottled my first batch of Brewdemon Twisted Monk Witbier and got a taste of it before bottling it (so the beer is not carbonated yet). I can't believe how easy it was (except for waiting), and I never thought that I would ever want to drink flat beer before but the taste was delicious. Now the hard part again...waiting more.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum, glad you found us here. And happy to hear that your first batch is now in the bottle. Don't be afraid to ask questions, no matter how simple they may seem. As a new brewer, you'll have plenty of them. And asking is the best way to learn.
Again, welcome. I look forward to hearing more about your brewing journey!!

Re: Assimilation Complete
Welcome to the Borg! We all started as Newbs and most have started w/ Mr. Beer, Brew Demon or some other starter type kit and this forum by far has been beyond helpful. We are all working to get the same results great beer, so if there is something that may have you stumped ask away, someone here more than likely has experienced it!

Welcome Cerveza, glad you are here.
You have beautifully expressed the reasons that this is my favorite forum on any topic: People here are friendly and supportive. I also remember my own confusion when I first started reading about brewing. Like your beer, it will all become clear in time.
Brewing is a great craft. Please keep us up on your projects.

Welcome CervezaMan, you'll fit in just fine here. This forum is unlike any other beer forum and we just get along with each other. It's small enough to be family and large enough to learn and share what we learn. No one is perfect but there are some awesome brewers here and lots of knowledge from many years of homebrewing.
Things will become clear in time so take is slow and before you know it, you will be brewing great beer.

Guess you haven't read any posts from JoeChiante, he's not very nice...
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Oh yeah, that's QC testing (as is any other "sampling" of a batch). Welcome to the forum.CervezaMan wrote:...I can't believe how easy it was...and I never thought that I would ever want to drink flat beer...

Welcome, CervezaMan!
You're very astute - the vibe here is nothing but positive, and that's the reason it's the only beer site I frequent. The guys and gals here rock. Looking forward to your contributions.
Sounds like your "brewing career" is off to a good start!

I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

Welcome CervezaMan! Great first post!
We all started somewhere and through the help of others we succeeded and we are just trying to pay it forward. It is great to have you join us on your brewing journey and we will be glad to help answer any questions you might have.
You might notice some ribbing amongst some of the older crowd, but that's just because we've known each other for quite awhile. Well that and the fact that they're Jack Wagons.
We're looking forward to you making old fart status.
