Sometime in 2016, we'll finally be able to get Bell's here. While I doubt Hop Slam will ever make it here, it's nice to think we're getting more and more big boy beers here.

Re: Bell's Beer is coming south
They finally made their way here so I'm going to go to a tap night and get some swag and see what the fuss is all about. Like I might have to drink a pint or two of 2 Hearted NOT out of a bottle. I can lower my standards.

Well, it was crowded but rather uneventful. I met a nice guy who spends his days traveling to all the new places the week before roll out and we talked beer. He's actually a BJCP judge and we had a nice talk about Bell though he gave me no secrets.
I had their Oatsmobile which is pretty much like all the other session beers out there (except for Blackduck's). Then I went to Two Hearted. Its just a simple, no frills, IPA that I think almost anyone can drink. I've only had it in bottles and the draft was very enjoyable.
Since I was driving I stayed away from the Imperial Stout but my friend had one so I had a sip or two of his. Very, very nice. I look forward to having one of those again.
My wife was enamored with the Mango Habanero Oberon Ale (I thought it was jalepeno but what do I know?). It looked like orange juice and though I wouldn't want a pint of it, she had 2. Not overly hot and it hits mid to end on the tongue. The wheat comes out on the aroma and up front.
As for the swag, it was laughable. I got some lip balm, an Oatsmobile sticker for my corny and a key chain.
Here's a crappy picture of the Mango Habenero, Imperial stout and the Two Hearted. There was just nothing else to take pictures of.

Oh, I don't know. These two statements seem very contradictory to me.Beer-lord wrote: There was just nothing else to take pictures of.

Well, I did get caught looking at a few of the college girls but my wife is ok with that. She knows it would just be an epic fail if I attempted to pick them up. I seem to be good at failures.
