Spiegelau glasses

Post by Kealia »

I recently got an Amazon gift card for $30 and decided to just blow it on something that I normally wouldn't buy. Just something fun.

I decided to buy a 2-pack of these because they are the "ultimate IPA" glasses and, well.....why not?

They will be here tomorrow. I'll do my own side-by-side with the tulip glass that I normally drink my IPAs out of and post some thoughts. Even if they don't make it any better, I like the way they look and they were basically free so I've lost nothing in the process.

Pics and thoughts to come.

I have some and love them and this week I spent $27 for 4 Teko glasses. Yes, much like hops, I have a glass problem too!

I'm still planning to buy 4 Stange glasses for my Kolsch habit. For drinking IPAs I've been using my Libby Dimple glasses, I didn't know there were dedicated IPA glasses out there until I read this thread.

Those are the glasses used in the video I posted, right? I've never seen or heard of them before.

I know what you mean. There are so many things to stay on top of.

I don't always use the "right" glass. Often, I use the mason jars I got from Lagunitas because I like them and that's good enough for me. These are just a fun purchase.

I'm curious about your experience with the Speigel glasses. My glassware collection came from the Dollar Tree, where I found a shockingly large collection of style specific glasses for $1 each: Tulips, imperial pints, pilsners. I'm looking for goblets as I've only found one there before.

I didn't buy any there and had mine since before that trip.
I like them but they are very thin though it seems many are made that way.

Same here, I've had their IPA glass for awhile and it does make a difference, even with the same beer.
Though the glass is thin, it is super strong due to the quality of the glass.
Now if I win the lottery, I love to have a set of these or I might drop a few hints for Birthday and Christmas. ;) But I might just have to get the Limestone glass anyway.

You had to post those? I am refraining for the rest of the year unless you get too many for your birthday and give them to me.

Those Pretentious glasses look awesome. It might be nice to get one just to say I have one!!!!.

Chuck was nice enough to buy one of the Sierra Nevada Spiegelau IPA glasses for me. He's such a nice guy, thanks. I love it. The design on the bottom of the glass creates a perfect head when the beer is poured, which really opens up the aroma of the IPA.

My wife bought me a set of 4 of the Dogfish Head logo Speigelau IPA glasses last year. I love them. I was concerned about the thin glass but have had no issues. I think they do make a difference.
