I didn't get a chance to test these last night so tonight should be the night.
Thise Pretentious glasses look crazy, too.
Who knew there was more to beer than just pouring into a standard shaker?

Oops, poured with just the keezer light. Though I'm sure you're ok with a Levitation clone pour.

There is never a bad time for a Levitation pour!

Now that I've used this glass, here are my thoughts:
At first, the glass feels very fragile but after a few minutes of handling it, it seems to be quite well made. The base is solid and feels good in the hand. Moreso than the tulip glasses I typically use for IPAs.
It does capture and funnel the aroma in the same fashion that a tulip glass does, but this has an advantage - as you get near the bottom of the glass the tilting causes the beer to stir up a head and kick out some more aroma. Something that doesn't happen with a tulip glass, shaker glass, or anything else wide and flat at the bottom. Nice.

The thin glass shows the beer really well, so it's visually appealing too. Now, does it make the beer better? Hell, I don't know but it's fun to think it does so I'm going with that.

This is my new IPA glass and it was great to break it in with BlackDuck's Simply Simarillo recipe. Tomorrow it gets treated to a Russian River session IPA. Woot.

I think I have darn near every glass style now that I've added my stange and lambic glasses. I'm a big fan of the IPA glass. I thought it was a gimmick, especially because they had the BS story about the research and design work they did (it is a remarketed wine glass in reality with the laser marks added), but once I did a side-by-side tasting at Yazoo with this and a standard shaker pint, I was sold on the glass.

Hell, anything is better than a shaker. They were never meant for drinking, and your beer deserves better.

IPA-ception!!!

My wife found a set of four Spiegelau/Bell's wheat glasses at Marshall's or Ross or one of those stores for $15, where regular price on the four is about $40. They're my favorite for my saison kick lately, but also for hefeweizens. I'm planning to brew a Lil Sumpin clone one of these days so I'll try it out on that as well!
