Who's getting ready to brew some seasonals?

I usually brew every Sunday, keeping three carboys filled and in rotation. But because of my father's 90th birthday celebration on May 1, I didn't brew that day. But this weekend, I'll have all three carboys filled once again, and I'm starting off with a summer seasonal. First it's the Black Hops, an RCE recipe for a Dark Cascadian (or black IPA, if you prefer the oxymoron of something being both black and pale). Then it'll be a revamped version of FedoraDave's American Ale, the new hops bill aided by my recent Hopsperiment brews. And into June with Lime Cerveza and Sunbonnet Lemon Wheat, two light, refreshing session beers perfect for the dog days of summer.

Also, somewhere in there, at my daughter's request, I'm going to brew a batch of King Duncan's Spiced Holiday Porter. It'll condition for months and be ready for the winter holidays.

I'll brew sometime the Memorial weekend. Either my Men in Black (not my recipe but tweaked) or Simply Simarello but nothing really seasonal planned.
This summer I will be brewing more tasty small pales as I continue to tweak my water with my older recipes.

I brewed my Orange Sunshine Belgian Witbier a few weeks ago, I consider it to be a summer seasonal beer, and have been drinking it since the weekend. This recipe is a favorite that I brew at least 3 times over the warm weather months. Not exactly a season beer I always seem to have an IPA on tap year round and will have a batch ready to Keg Friday night. Another beer I think will be awesome for the warmer weather is my Kolsch beer, although I also consider it to be a year round favorite too.

Oh, I'm with you, Vince. I always have an IPA or at least a Pale Ale in the rotation, too. And I'm not one to insist on dark beers like stouts and porters for the winter months. I brew what I like. But the lighter ales and wheats sure hit the spot in the summer.

Im about to brew up my Kolsch again. Great beer for the warmer weather. I also want to do an American Lager of some sorts. I have been thinking of a Cali Common type beer too over the summer. I have an IPA in mind for June as a gift to someone and I think Ill toss in my hoppy American Wheat sometime soon.

I've got my blonde on tap and a Kentucky common on deck, brewed with an eye on Derby. No tap space, so I missed my deadline, but both were brewed for spring. School year ends next week, so I'm hoping to ramp up production with a saison, hoppy wheat Gumballheadish recipe I stole from KNeace, and probably a hefe. And finally doing our hoppy Austrailian RCE too!

Every year I tell myself to brew my Christmas ale early, and every year I fail to do so. Kudos to you!

Im glad I stuck to plans and brewed the Alt when I did. Its been a nice beer for the cool spring.

BandGuy if you brew the Gumball be sure to post it. I havent brewed that recipe in a long time. But its one of my favorites.

Well, my daughter got somewhat miffed this past year because I failed to have the spiced porter available, so I feel compelled to make up for it.

Also, I see a couple of people are brewing a Kölsch. I need to do more research on this style, because, while I've formulated a recipe, I'm not real pleased with it. It always seems a little off, somehow, and I'd really like to have a solid Kölsch in my rotation.

Thats how I felt about my first Kolsch. It wasnt crisp enough or bitter enough. I tweaked the recipe and now I have it where I like it. It tastes very German. I havent had a lot of true Kolsch but it tastes like what I imagine it shoukd taste like.

I tend to drink the same things all year long, so I have no plans for anything special at this point. I too have brewed a few Kolsch in the past, so maybe I'll toss one of those in the pipeline if I find a window.

I'm pretty sure MadBrewer used all Amarillo originally, but I changed it up with some FF. I've also made it with Wyeast 3522, Belgian Ardennes, which turned out quite nice.
