I believe it's basically a custom STC-1000, but it can display in *F or *C, can control both heating and coolling, and is pretty straightforward to set up (assuming you read the instructions), and it's waaaay easier and cheaper than it would be for me to make as good looking of a controller from an STC-100. It even has a mounting thing so you can stick it over a screw and hang it from wherever you like. I have mine mounted on the wall next to my kegerator.
And it's only $39! Take that, Johnson Controllers!
I've got it connected to my kegerator, keeping it at a steady 38*...I let it go up to 40* before it cools down, and I set it up for a 5" compressor delay so it's not cycling the compressor too fast (I could probably go with a lower delay, but this is my kegerator--my beer doesn't have to be 100% perfectly temp controlled).
I've got no heating attached to it, and I've got the over temp alarm set to 55*. So far, so good! I might later up the temp to 45* or so, but maybe I'll wait on that for the fall. With it being high 80s/low 90s and humid, I'm pretty damn happy with 38* beer and cider!
I'm tempted to get another one with a reptile heating mat, bypass the thermostat on my wine fridge, and have precise fermenation temp control! Buuut I'm not going to do that yet.
