$30 Corny Kegs

Post by John Sand »

I just bought two from a local guy who's craft root beer business closed. They are original Cornelius ball lock kegs, one Pepsi and one other soda distributor. Dust and stickers but in good shape. Would anyone be interested in buying? I'm not looking to turn a buck, but this is the best price I've ever seen. I'm willing to share the joy. If you want one or more I'll call him back and you can pay the shipping.

Thanks but I'm good.
I can say that the root beer ones are the hardest to get the 'odor' out of. I had one that I soaked for almost a week in a lot of baking soda, then another week in PBW and then again in baking soda. It's fine but it took awhile.
I understand there are other ways to get that smell out of it but I can't remember.

I thought the same, I checked one and it has no odor. I'm not sure he used all of these, he told me that he bought a bunch from a defunct soda distributor. I think one says Dr Pepper and the other RC.

Never had a Dr. Pepper one but I've read those need some extra cleaning too. $30 is a great deal if they are in good shape.

Do you know how much it would cost to ship to Boston (or Austin )? I know some brewers there.

How about utah? I use pin locks and have plenty, but a neighbor has ball locks.

That's a damn good price!

Best price I ever got was 4 for $100, but that was shortly after I started kegging, in 2009 or 2010.

I was cleaning these today. No smell of soda, a little dirty inside, one has some rust stains on the post threads and pickup tube. I'm soaking them with one step.

The first two I got were $17 each (damaged handles).

I also bought 8 at 4 for $100. But they sent me 12 because one box was all banged up, and I think they just assumed it was a list cause.
